Some good news from the recent census figures means more money in the Town of Lockport coffers, Town Supervisor Marc Smith said during Monday's board meeting.

After hearing the town's population had jumped from 19,655 residents to 20,529, officials learned they'll be getting more than $175,000 in additional sales tax revenue.

In other town news, the board accepted the resignation of Alan Hamilton, who had headed the town's industrial development agency for the last 14 years.

Hamilton, who recently turned 80, spent nearly two decades on the IDA's board.
