Saying he thinks Niagara Falls needs a reality check, former state assembly candidate John Accardo announced he'll run for mayor in the Cataract City.
Accardo said in a release on Sunday that his first order of business would be to institute a 25 percent pay cut for all exempt employees appointed by the mayor. Accardo intends to seek the endorsements of the Democratic, Independence, Conservative and Working Families parties.
Accardo was part of a heated assembly race last year with John Ceretto and Francine DelMonte. During one of the debates for the seat, Accardo stormed out after telling Delmonte he wouldn't continue without an apology for statements she'd made against his family's businesses.
