A prominent Niagara County school administrator has been cut because of tighter budgets.

Niagara-Wheatfield schools have cut the position of Mark DiFilippo, who has spent eight years in the post and also served as the chairman of the expanding Section VI Hockey Federation, which has added teams in each of the past few years.

His job duties will likely fall onto a vice principal and that position will not get any extra pay.

Although he'd heard the position might be reduced to part-time, DiFilippo said he was surprised to hear the spot had been completely cut.
