The competition against incumbent Niagara Falls mayor Paul Dyster thinned a little on Wednesday as union leader Jim Anthony announcing his decision to step aside in the race.

Anthony has worked with the city for two decades and has been the president of the local steelworkers union for half of that time.

Although he cited family obligations, Anthony didn't rule out running again in four years. Others still officially in the race with Dyster are John Accardo and Carnell Burch.
