After a 42-year career in education, Lockport City Schools superintendent Terry Carbone announced during Wednesday's board of education meeting that she'll step down from her post sometime soon.

Carbone has been in the Lockport schools for 25 years, serving time as the principal of Lockport High School and John Pound, Charlotte Cross and Washington Hunt elementary schools.

Carbone said she's hoping to spend more time with her two grandchildren.
