A Lockport woman who was stabbed with a butcher's knife in her home back on April 21 died from complications on Wednesday. 66-year-old Norma Confer had been stationed at E-C-M-C since the attack.
According to police, 47-year-old Hans Diefenbach of Genesee Street stabbed Confer in her nightgown after kicking in her door. When asked why he had blood on his clothing, police said he responded: "From stabbing Norma."
He was originally charged with second-degree attempted murder, but that charge has since been bumped to murder.
Diefenbach is still being held in Niagara County Jail on $500,000 bail.
It's the first murder in Lockport since Renee Greco was killed in 2009
