What can only be termed as one of the wildest local congressional campaigns in years is officially history. Kathleen Hochul is the newest member of Congress, after she took the oath of office yesterday as the new representative for New York's 26th Congressional District.
Hochul's upset last week of Jane Corwin in the special election to fill former Congressman Christopher Lee's seat called a number of issues into the spotlight, with Medicare at the top of that list.
On Wednesday, she thanked those who helped her get to Capitol Hill.
Hochul says she plans to spend her time in Congress working with her colleagues to find "common-sense solutions" to America's problems.
