Niagara Falls is getting a new paper mill -- and more important, a number of new jobs.
A $430 million mill has been given the formal go-ahead from owners Cascades Incorporated. The facility will be built on Packard Road, next to the company's current plant, and Cascade's president Alain Lemaire is calling it his group's biggest investment ever.
The plant will produce lightweight linerboard, entirely from recycled paper fiber. Construction will begin next month on the facility, which is expected to create 108 new local jobs.
