Nurses at ENH give notice to picket

A new contract proposal led the negotiator for the nurses union at Eastern Niagara Hospital to say the group will probably give a 10-day notice to management that they might be ready to picket.

The group is upset with a deal that will cut pay for some and pensions for all while asking union members to pay more for medical expenses.

Although the nurses hope getting info out will help their cause, they insists there are no plans to picket yet.

This comes soon after a possible strike at Kaleida Hospitals was averted, and also falls about a decade after a bitter strike at ENH.
