The Gasport woman accused of hitting a pair of teens on Dysinger Road while texting and driving drunk could use a defense that the intersection is dangerous.

36-year-old Amy Schumacher pleaded not guilty to a charge of felony vehicular assault related to a crash that injured 13-year-old Christian Shufelt and 14-year-old Anthony Sanmarco.

Schumacher had already pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving while intoxicated from the incident back on May 26.

That case was adjourned in Town of Lockport court on Tuesday.

Sanmarco is still at ECMC, although his condition is now fair. He was originally in a coma. Schumacher will return to court on Aug. 9.
