With a number of national tragedies in recent months, the American Red Cross is hitting critically low levels of blood. That's why the group's summer blood drive, which takes place on Tuesday at the Dale Association in Lockport, is so vital. Donations to the Red Cross this summer are the lowest they've been in over a decade.

Marybeth Hall of the Red Cross said eligible donors of all types are welcome at the drive and could help to offset the string of disasters the nation has see.

To set up an appointment, you can call 1-800-RED-CROSS, although walk-ins are welcome tomorrow. That drive runs from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
