The biggest story this week? The heat! A dry, scorching heat has descended upon Niagara County and all of Western New York. The stretch of hot weather could break heat records later in the week.
Steve McLaughlin of the National Weather Service said we've been lucky to miss some of the high temperatures this summer, but not any longer.
The County Health Department is advising those who don't have to leave their homes to stay put and seek out air conditioned facilities. Also, the County Health Department has issued another advisory for Olcott Beach, saying the waters of Lake Ontario have high bacteria levels. Health officials say testing on Tuesday showed water quality levels unsafe for swimming.
