The man who police were looking for when a Niagara County Sheriff's deputy crashed and eventually lost his legs will not get charged for that accident, the county's D.A said on Wednesday.

Michael Violante told the Buffalo News that 35-year-old Todd Hauser of Ransomville isn't likely to face felony charges in the accident, which occured on Youngstown-Lockport Road back in July.

Hauser will be charged with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident, but Violante said that's all.

36-year-old Allen Gerhardt responded to a call for assistant and crashed into a guardrail. He's still at ECMC.
