After negotiations fell apart over the weekend, it looks like Verizon workers could be picketing in the Falls today as 45,000 workers nationwide are set to go on strike.
Verizon had been insisting on numerous concessions. during talks that stretched back into June, but the union contends that Verizon has been wildly profitable, making $27.5 billion in the second quarter of this year.
The two sides couldn't agree on outsourcing, job security, pensions and health care.
Many of the workers have been dressed in red and picketing outside Verizon stores throughout Buffalo.
