Nearly three dozen people got more of a thrill than they bargained for Thursday on the Ride of Steel roller coaster at Darien Lake Thursday.
A chain on the ride snapped while the cars were going up a hill, leaving passengers stranded at the top of the hill before officials could get them down.
The 32 passengers on the ride had to walk down the side of the track to get off the ride.
All this less than a month after the park was scrutinized in the death of Sgt. James Hackemer, the double amputee who was thrown from the ride to his death.
