In the city of Lockport, 10-year-old Blake Gandy, who was severely bitten by a pit bull Tuesday afternoon, has been released from Women and Children's Hospital. The dog was seized by the city's dog control officer and is at the SPCA in Niagara Falls pending an investigation. The pit bull known as "Trouble" reportdly jumped onto Gandy's face while he was selling candy bars for the LOYAL youth football program. According to Gandy's mother, the pit bull then pulled her son and ripped opened his face. Gandy was rushed to Women and Children's Hospital where he was given several stitches and heavy-duty pain medication. City police are expected to place formal charges on the dog over the next few days.
