Crawley was injured corrections officer

The county has released the name of the correction's officer who had his vertebrae broken during a fight with an inmate when he uncovered contraband.

45-year-old Mark Crawley had his back broken when he was thrown over a a desk while trying to take tobacco away from a prisoner.

He was rushed to ECMC and although he's not expected to be paralyzed, Sheriff James Voutour said his injuries could be career-ending.
