After a recent rash of flooding downstate, a trio of emergency dispatchers from Niagara County are headed down to help.
Darlene Gurnett, Roger Yurek and Michael Myers left Sunday evening for Binghamton, and will work a pair of 12-hour shifts to help the flood-ravaged city.
Communications Captain Scott Lombardo said that Broome County put out a statewide plea for dispatchers last Friday to assist their staff during the flood emergency.
The local trio should be especially helpful since the county's use similar communications and computer systems. The three are expected to return home by mid-week.
