The Lockport City Treasurer told the common council on Wednesday that he won't pick up extra work unless he's fairly compensated.

Michael White told the group he's against assuming the duties of budget director unless he gets a raise.

He's asking for another $12,000 on top of the salary he currently gets, which should be more than $71,000 next year. White has been approved for raises in each of the next four years and also wants his deputy to get an extra $8,000 for the work.
