Rather than stir up a three-way race for mayor in the city of Niagara Falls, John Accardo said Wednesday he will not campaign on the Conservative line for November's general election.

Accardo soundly lost to incumbent Paul Dyster in Tuesday Democratic primary, getting about half of Dyster's vote count.

The former councilman said Wednesday that the voters spoke loudly and decided against continuing his campaign.

That further thins out what was a stacked field as Dyster will now face endorsed Republican and Niagara Falls School Board member Johnny G. Destino in November.
