Planners discussed the possibility of building a new marina along the Erie Canal in Lockport on Thursday.
A pair of spots along the canal near the Stevens Street bridge were discussed, with price tags on the two sites ranging from $2 to 5 million.
According to planners, a marina would need to include basics like electricity, showers and security.
The possibility of adding a fueling station would also be attractive to boaters, the study said. The City of Lockport got two grants totalling more than $100,000 to fund the grants -- one from the state's Environmental Protection Fund and the other through the county-mandated casino funds.
