So much for the outcry over a potential 18 percent increase in taxes.
City of Lockport residents all but ignored Wednesday's public hearing on the upcoming budget, with just a handful of people coming out to the event at City Hall.
The next step comes as mayor Michael Tucker tries to get concessions from the city's five public unions.
The current budget line shows $24.5 million in expenses, but the mayor and common council are working to reign those costs in.
Another public hearing on the budget will be held later this month.
