Emergency drills will be conducted at the New York Power Authoriy in Lewiston on Saturday and at the former Niagara Falls Police Headquarters on Hyde Park Blvd. on Wednesday. Tomorrow morning starting at 7 until noon, the New York Power authority will team with local emergency responders to stage a medical emergency exercise at the Niagara Power Project. If you're traveling on Military Road or on the I-190, you can expect to see several emergency responders to stage a medical emergency exercise at the Niagara Power Project. Then, on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until noon the Niagara Falls Police Department in conjuction with Rural/Metro Medical Services and Niagara Falls High School students - who will act as victims - will conduct an "active shooter" scenario, which will simulate an armed takeover of the building and allow agencies to practice confining a shooter, search and rescue, fire containment and treating victims.
