The attorney for a Lockport man charged with second-degree murder will use an insanity defense when the trial starts in January.

Hans Diefenbach told police that he stabbed 65-year-old Norma Confer back in April.

She dies of stab wounds to the stomach and back a month later.

Diefenbach's attorney said he expects a report from a psychologist to show that the killer was suffering from schizophrenia and hallucinations at the time.
