So much for a depressed economy driving down tourism in Niagara Falls.
A meeting of the regional state parks commission on Thursday unveiled that the park agency's tour business is up 42 percent over last year. The Discovery Pass, which gives a single admission price to the the Maid of the Mist and other attractions, had a 32 percent boost in online sales.
And the Cave of the Winds' revenues were about even, although bad weather forced back the opening of the popular spot.
Assemblyman John Ceretto said he's not surprised to hear the findings, but he also thinks the money earned from the park needs to stay in the Falls.
