The ongoing construction on Lewiston Road in the Niagara Falls neighbrohood of DeVeaux has been time consuming, disruptive, and even controversial.
The project uncovered radioactive materials that needed to be handled, and is well over budget.
That road runs from the southern end of Main Street in Niagara Falls to the Niagara University campus and has held one of the city's most prosperous neighborhood hostage.
Mayor Paul Dyster said the project is finally back in working order. The project was originally supposed to cost $7.7 million and take about a year, but will miss the mark on both.
