Less than two months ago, Lockport's Shirley Nicholas was mired in a tough campaign for the city's common council.
On Thursday, she was arraigned in city housing court on six charges that popped up during the campaign.
The 74-year-old Nicholas said she was the target of dirty politics when she was originally cited just a few weeks before the election.
Among the violations she faced were those for having a tarp covering her roof, having broken down cars on her lawn and having tires on her lawn.
She promised a judge on Thursday she'll rectify five of the six issues before her next court date in January .
