The SPCA of Niagara's board of directors met on Wednesday and have decided for the time being to keep Executive Director John Faso on board.

Faso has come under fire after reports that hundreds of animals have been killed or neglected. Board President Brandi Scrufari said after a two-hour meeting that the Erie County's SPCA will be called in to help investigate the allegations, but no rash decision will be made.

A number of other local officials like Lockport Mayor Michael Tucker and Niagara Falls Mayor Paul Dyster say they're waiting to see the results of the investigation, but will pull their funding for the SPCA if the allegations are found to be true and Faso remains in his position.
