Lockport Police apprehended a man they believe tried to rob Gould's Flower Shop on Tuesday.
It was reported that the male asked for the money and then gestured that he had a gun. The man then exited the front door and ran on foot. The area was checked by patrols, and the suspect was located behind 183 Genesee Street and was taken into custody at gun point, without incident.
They arrested 38-year-old Michael Maloney of Monroe Street in Lockport, and he was charged with Attempted Robbery in the Second Degree.
Maloney gave a deposition and fully confessed to his actions although no money or goods were stolen and no actual gun was displayed or recovered.
