A man has been arrested in North Carolina for the murder of a Lockport native who was his co-worker.
Police say 22-year-old Mark Cox was arrested Monday and charged with murder for the killing of 25-year-old Danielle Marie Watson. Watson's body was found over the weekend in a trash bin near the restaurant she managed in Charlotte.
Cox allegedly stabbed Watson to death in the kitchen of the restaurant Friday night. Cox was picked up at a friend's house in the outskirts of Fayetteville on Monday afternoon, and Watson's 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier was found at a nearby apartment complex.
Also, the 911 dispatcher who took the call from Watson's fiance and sent police to the wrong address has been placed on adminstrative leave.
Supervisors say he incorrectly sent officers to a non-existent "Plum Biscuit" when fiance Keith Smith clearly said a possible robbery was taking place at the Flying Biscuit.
Watson was the granddaughter of retired Lockport city judge Gerald Watson and the niece of current judge Bill Watson.
