>>Bill To Toughen DUI Laws 

The state Senate gave approval yesterday regarding legislation creating new penalties for individuals who drive while drunk.  

The bill sponsored by Senator George Maziarz is named after Abbagail Buzard, who died in a car crash.  

Sen. Majority Leader Dean Skelos said people supervising unlicensed drivers must be capable of operating the car as the driver.  The bill now goes to the Assembly for review.
