John Faso has come under fire of late for what SPCA staffers call animal neglect and the unnecessary euthanasia practices as the agencies shelter.
After a Monday afternoon meeting with the board of the SPCA of Niagara during which the accusations were confirmed, Faso was fired.
Faso, who earned 70-thousand dollars a year, was hired in 2010.
He responded on Monday, insisting that he told the board he didn't have a background in animal care. He said the board's response was that he didn't have to.
During Faso's time with the organization, donations had increased more than 150 percent ....
