The three men in a room have come to a budget agreement days ahead of the April 1st deadline. Gov. Cuomo, Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver announced the agreement in Albany. In a statement, Coumo said the budget will provide for fiscal responsibility while creating jobs and strengthening communities across the state. And Cuomo says it closed a multi-billion dollar deficit with no new taxes, fees or gimmicks.
The budget limits spending growth to two percent or below and launches the New York Works program. The task force will invest billions of dollars to rebuild the state's roads, bridges, parks and other infrastructure creating tens of thousands of jobs. The budget is expected to be adopted by the end of the week.
