Yahoo is laying off two-thousand employees nationwide but not in western New York.

In fact, Yahoo's executive vice-chairman took time yesterday to call State Senator George Maziarz and Lockport Economic Development Director David Kinyon to say that the high-tech company would be adding jobs at its Lockport facility.

Maziarz told WLVL news that Lockport is one of only two facilities nationwide that will be adding jobs in the midst of the cuts and said the company's vice chairman had a long list of reasons to keep growing in Niagara County ...

Yahoo employs 75 people in Lockport at present.
