A pair of burglaries on Pine Avenue caused thousands of dollars in damage on Sunday morning as a pair of liquor stores were hit.

First, police were called to Pine near 8th Street at around 3 a.m. after a window was smashed, but thieves who tried to enter couldn't get past a second window.

An hour later, a similar incident took place about 10 blocks down Pine Avenue and this time, thieves got away with six cases of Carlo Rossi wine.

Total damage between the two incidents was about $3,500 and police are still investigating.
