Yahoo employees are expected to learn more today about the company's massive reorganization. There are reports Yahoo will hold a company-wide meeting to discuss what comes down to job cuts. Last week, the search giant announced plans to ax about 2,000 workers. It's not clear if more layoffs loom this week.
The cutbacks are expected to save 375-million dollars a year. Analysts say more targeted cuts are likely, but Niagara County was spared, and in fact, is expected to see more investment in the Town of Lockport site.
Yahoo's 14-percent workforce reduction comes as CEO Scott Thompson reorganizes operations. Thompson was named CEO in January amid a management shakeup.
