Longtime Niagara County Community College wrestling coach Eric Knuutila was announced as one of members of the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame's class of 2012, which was unveiled yesterday ...
Knuutila retired last year after 38 years as the head coach of the program, leading the program to 383 match victories over his 38 years ... that places him second all-time in career wins in the history of the NJCAA.
Knuutila had four National Champions in Willie Moore in 1977, Mark Jurek in 1989, Dan Uhteg in 1991 and Rashad Evans in 2000.
Others in the class included Sabres play-by-play man Rick Jeanneret and former major league baseball star and North Tonawanda native Stan Rojek ...
That event will be held at the Buffalo Hyatt Regency this fall
