Police found the body of a man floating facedown in the Erie Canal near the North Adam Street bridge in Lockport on Tuesday.

The man, whose identity authorities are working to discover, was roughly between 40- and 50-years-old.

The white male was found just after noon and police and personnel responded to recover the body. They finally fished him out around 1 p.m.
