A Tennessee family was rescued after their motorboat sank on Lake Ontario yesterday afternoon.

A passenger on the boat was able to make a quick cell phone call to authorities that the 16 foot boat was taking on water off the shore of the town of Somerset.

By the time rescuers made it to the scene, the boat had submerged and seven people were floating in the water more than a half-mile off shore.  All were wearing life jackets, and none of the seven were injured.
