Gay-Carbonell arrested for Leandra's Law

A man who hit a pair of cars in just a few minutes yesterday in the Town of Wheatfield was arrested on Leandra's Law ...

58-year-old Pedro Gay-Carbonell was charged with driving while intoxicated (drugs), endangering the welfare of a child and failure to keep right. 

He had his 11-year-old son with him in the vehicle at the time of the accidents, according to the report from the Niagara County Sheriff's Office ... .

Police responded to a call of an accident near Niagara Falls Boulevard and that's when Deputy Joe Tortorella determined Gay-Carbonell was under the influence of drugs.

While at the scene, a third vehicle pulled up and the driver advised Gay-Carbonell also struck his vehicle on Saunders Settlement Road in the Town of Lewiston about 15 minutes earlier.

There were no injuries as a result of either accident. Gay-Carbonell was remanded to Niagara County jail on $750 bail.
