Barbara Carr returned to the shelter yesterday, and she said she was thrilled with the progress the group has made.
Back in January of 2012, a controversy over healthy animals being euthanized rocked the shelter. Lockport native Amy Lewis took over as the new director.
The group is still hoping to hire a permanent executive director to help with fundraising and getting major donors.
