School budgets are back in the news today as Wilson and Lewiston-Porter both heard a second round of budgets during meetings last night.
Wilson's school board has proposed a budget that increases the tax levy by two percent, which is less than the four percent that was defeated at the polls.
Meanwhile, Lew-Port's meeting was a testy one on Tuesday as a new budget with a tax levy increase of just less than four percent.
Niagara-Wheatfield, the last of the county's three districts to vote a budget down, will unveil its second budget tonight.
As for Lew-Port, both sides seem to be digging in. Tim Chipp, a reporter for the Niagara Gazette who covers school boards, said the setting is familiar.
A second round of budget votes will come up in mid-June.
