A Lockport man who was already in the county jail could face more charges after he was found to have a substance in his cell that was believed to be heroin.

A corrections officer doing a jail cell inspection found that 30-year-old John Apolito of Niagara Street Extension had a black, sticky substance that was thought to be black tar heroin.

The substance was sent off to the county lab, and charges are pending.
