Although the controversy over whether to name a City of Lockport park for Patty Parete has caused some bad feelings, a meeting on Wednesday might have found an alternative.

After yesterday's meeting of the Common Council, it appears a new Memorial Committee will get to work on a Fallen Heroes memorial protocol, as well as a potential place to honor multiple fallen residents.

Those comes in light of the death of Parete, the Buffalo police officer who graduated from Lockport High School in the 1980s.

Another person expected to be honored at the park is Albert Jex, who died in Iraq back in 2009.
