Lockport's Merritt arrested for Sanborn armed robbery

A 32-year-old Lockport man is in custody after an armed robbery at a gas station across from NCCC in Sanborn early this morning.

Police responded to the Valero on the corner of Saunders Settlement and Townline Road after learning that a white male threatened the clerk with a knife and made off with about $200 in cash.

Soon after, Danny Merritt of Murphy Road was picked up on Lockport Road. According to a police report, Merritt was dripping with sweat and said he coming from a friend's house in the Falls. 

He was positively identified, and arrested for robbery and petit larceny.

Merritt was arraigned in Town of Lewiston Court and taken to the county jail on $10,000 bail.
