For the second time in less than a week, an armed robbery took place in Sanborn.
The Niagara County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from the clerk at the Sanborn Family Mart reporting that an armed robbery had just occurred.
The clerk said two males entered the store and displayed a handgun. The two males fled the store in an unknown direction with an undetermined amount of cash and other merchandise. Patrol units responded immediately to the area and set up a perimeter with negative results.
Assisting at the scene were units from the New York State Police and Lewiston Police.
The investigation is continuing by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office Criminal Bureau.
Earlier this week, a 32-year-old Lockport man was arrested after an armed robbery at a gas station across from NCCC in Sanborn.
Police responded to the Valero on the corner of Saunders Settlement and Townline Road after learning that a white male threatened the clerk with a knife and made off with about $200 in cash.
Soon after, Danny Merritt of Murphy Road was picked up on Lockport Road.
