A Wheatfield man who was wanted on felony animal cruelty charges after he allegedly threw a small dog to the floor got quite a shock this morning when county sheriff's patrols tased him.
Police were following 28-year-old Jason Evrard around midnight while he was biking on Errick Road.
When they asked Evrard to stop, he fled the scene, running into a backyard.
He was hit by the taser and yelled "I'm done, I'm done" while hitting the ground. Evrard was charged with resisting arrest.
The original warrant was filed after Evrard asked his grandmother if she wanted her dog to have a broken neck during a visit to her Walmore Road home. He then allegedly threw the dog to the floor, breaking its pelvis.
