Citing a slow response time, a local group is suing the city for what they're calling procedural lapses with the City of Lockport's Fire Department that led to the death of a 75-year-old woman last year.
Jeanette Lombardi, the mother of 1st Ward Alderman John Lombardi, died after suffering an allergic reaction back in September.
The city's fire crews took 13 minutes to respond to the incident from the time they fielded a call, and a quick shot might have saved her life.
Both of the city's two ambulances were in use at the time of the call, so mutual aid from Wrights Corners was called in.
By the time that group responded, Lombardi had died.
The estate of Lombardi is suing for unspecified damages.
