A man who called in his own driving while intoxicated charge was taken to jail on Wednesday night after county sheriff's deputies said his blood alcohol level was nearly twice the legal limit.

33-year-old Patrick Kelly of Escarpment Drive was found on Campbell Boulevard last night after he called 911 to report that he was intoxicated and couldn't drive any further. He told patrols he didn't want to hurt anyone so that's why he called.

According to the report, Kelly was coming home after eight beers at a bar in Amherst, then drove his girlfriend home before pulling over.

He was taken to jail and held on $250 bail. His court date is July 16th.
