After first hearing the area would not be eligible for federal funding, Lockport officials are determining the resources they'll need now that recovery funds have been made available.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced Friday that his request for funds from FEMA has been signed-off by President Obama.

More areas of New York could be made eligible if deemed necessary, but the news that Lockport will be included in FEMA funding is a relief for many local home and business owners.

Damage from the flood back in June was estimated locally at more than $7 million.
